AI Text Detector

AI Text Detector scans webpages highlighting words, phrases, formatting, and sentence patterns commonly generated by AI (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, etc).

➤ What It Does
● Highlights formatting patterns statistically overused by AI ("not just x but y", "what sets x apart is y", etc).
● Highlights AI-likely characters like em & en dashes and others (—, –, …, etc)
● Highlights words & phrases that AI over uses ("Delve", "Bolster", "Differentiate", "Paradigm", etc)
● Highlights phrases AI over uses ("important to remember", "To put it simply", "One thing is clear", etc)

⚠️ Note: Just because a word, phrase, or sentence structure is detected, Doesn't per-se it was written by ai. But the more items are detected in an article, the higher our confidence can be that ai played some role in the writing.

● Uses a blacklist of common words, phrases, and sentence regex patterns

➤ Questions
● Does this use AI to detect AI? No. That's pretty meta, and doesn't come with guarantees, and also would come with usage costs. Sometimes the simplest approach is best. :)
● Did you use AI to build this? Maybe ;) Ai struggles to make production-ready code imo.
● How'd you come up with the list? Mostly observation, googling, and asking ai to research/expand the list haha.
● What AI is this targeting? Any AI, however I'm most familiar with ChatGPT's writing style. So I'm sure there are many gaps.

This extension does not track browsing history, log data, or send content to any external servers. It runs entirely in-browser.
